The best of Radiohead ?

Dunno if it'll be good for the band's image but it'll be obviouly good for EMI bank account!
They are set to release a Radiohead Greatest Hits album to coincide with Radiohead’s upcoming tour. Radiohead’s former label seem determined to make some money from the band’s current activities.
When Radiohead announced the release of their ‘In Rainbows’ Discbox in December, EMI quickly followed with the release of the 7 albums (6 studio, 1 live) as a box set which included the albums as digipacks, download and USB-stick.
Now the tour is coming up , EMI have got another release up their sleeves; the long feared Greatest Hits album. Ed O’Brien (guitar player) [laughing]: “They’re planning to do a Greatest Hits for April, May to coincide with our tour. That’s an interesting one. We won’t be doing any promotion for that, obviously.”
In an interview , Phil Selway (drummer) quickly commented on a Greatest Hits album as well: “It’s well within their rights to do it. [sigh]. So we’ll have to see.”
Now we have to bet on which songs will be included . You start.....

Las Rayas Blancas formerly known as The White Stripes.

The band will release 'Conquista' under the name Las Rayas Blancas (The White Stripes in Spanish) in the US on February 19. It will be their first record in spanish and it's , of course, a new version of "conquest".

The single, which will be available on CD and 7-inch vinyl, features a B-side acoustic version of the song performed by a mariachi band. It also contains the Spanish-language version of the 'Conquest' video, directed by Diane Martel.

From the pop music of the 60's to the 70's rock, from The Beatles to Prince, from Bowie to some more recent bands (The Shins, Broadcast) including the cover of M.I.A's Jimmy , a website has listed something like 52 covers from live performances or EP and you can listen to them here !!!

The White Stripes sued!

The White Stripes are being sued for $70,000 for sampling a Canadian radio show eight years ago.Quebec radio host Dominique Payette says that the duo used a ten-second sample from her radio show without permission, and claims her privacy has been violated. The sample appears on the track called 'Jumble, Jumble' from the band’s second album, 2000's 'De Stijl'.
